Upgrading SD card?

I got a new 512 SD and I was wondering...
Do apps need to be "installed" onto the SD card or could I just copy what apps are already on my 256 card onto the HD and then copy them onto the new card?

You should be able to just use a card reader, copy them off the existing card and then copy them to the new card...

I think it will depend on the application... some are not so easy to transfer. But this sounds like a great time for you to do a fresh clean... put your important files in a folder on the card and then reset your pda... and reload all your programs.

On the whole, if you use a card reader (or other program/hardware) to make an exact copy of your existing card with the files/directory structure intact and copy this "as is" to your new card i don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. Common sense dictates leaving a backup copy available at all times just in case.

Certainly less time consuming than re-installing all your programs and their settings ;)
