Hello, everyone!

I'm in the market for a good calendar program for my IPAQ 3600. I'm getting ready to head out on tour for four months (I'm a theatrical stage manager), so I'm going to be in charge of coordinating a lot of data. I'll be taking along my new Compaq Presario X1010 running XP. Here's some things I want/don't want:

1. I MUST be able to sync between the laptop and the PPC to keep calendar up to date on both.
2. I do not have Outlook (only OE) on the laptop, and won't be adding the MS suite anytime soon (found the "Easy" suite which I love).
3. Contact management isn't nearly as important as calendar functionality.
4. If I can combine the calendar functionality while also being able to record location at the same time and adjust for multiple time zones...excellent!

Hope I'm not looking for the proverbial unicorn here, but I'm really more concerned with managing my time and locations than anything else. I'll need to do things like record hotels we'll be staying at as well.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
Jay

You could try Intellisync... (http://www.pumatech.com/is_desktop_main.html)

It will allow you to sync your Pocket PC to OE. I've never used it, so I don't know how well it works...

Update: you can also use SyncExpress... (http://www.syncdata.it/syncexpress.html) Again, I've never used this one either...

I should have added: On the Pocket PC side of things, once you are able to sync, you should look into Pocket Informant (http://www.pocketinformant.com/) and Agenda Fusion... (http://www.developerone.com/agendafusion/index.htm)

..............just one man's opinion, but, if its important, I would suggest spending a few bucks for Outlook, instead of OE.

I guess I have never been without the full blown application.

As stated above, once you have Outlook on your PC, then Pocket Informant (my choice) or Agenda Fusion (definate second) would bring your PPC on par with Outlook on your PC.

A version of MS Outlook should have been included with his PocketPC or was this another advantage of buying an hp Jornada 568?

It (Outlook) should have been included in the box. It just sounds to me as if he does not want to use it...

I'm not sure what you guys got when you bought an IPAQ 3600, but all mine came with was the sync software and that was it. Free Outlook??? No way! Of course, I bought this over three years ago. Maybe they changed things.

Yes way. I bought the original iPAQ 3650 and I'm pretty sure it came with Outlook 2000...

Guess I got &#(## then.....definitely didn't get that, and I can't remember who I ordered it from. Just found the original box and paperwork...absolutely nothing about Outlook mentioned anywhere.
