iPAQ 3630 shuts off directly

Hi

I just got to work and when trying to turn on mine iPAQ 3630 I just see the "boot" screen with the ROM version in the lower right portion of the screen and then it shuts itself off directly. 8O It was working just fine yesterday. Any idea why this is happening? For the last 2-3 months the battery time has been getting worse, could it be that it's totally dead now. :cry:

It's possible. :( Here's what you do: try charging up the battery, and turn it on while it's being charged. If that still doesn't work, try a soft-reset. If that doesn't work, try a hard reset. And if that doesn't work, you've got a problem. On the other hand -- if it works, then unplug it and see if it sustains power off the battery.

If the battery is shot, one can buy a replacement from a place like Pocket PC Techs (www.ppctechs.com). However, you have to decide, given the age of the 3600 units, whether it's worth it to you to do that as opposed to upgrading.
