Simple question really -- is there any workarounds to get a GDI-printer to work on a print-server-equipped router? I.e. someone had suggested Ghostscript but I don't think it's too viable a solution for the other users in my house (I'm the only remotely-savvy guy in the household).

I'm not really keen on leaving my desktop on just for the purpose of being a print server -- I'd prefer an alternate solution (if it presents itself).

PR.

I don't think thats possible as GDI printers are dumb and rely on the CPU of the host PC to layout the pages etc.

I got a cheap Samsung Laser and I couldn't use that with my print server router. It wasn't a major problem as I leave my PC on 24/7 anyway and other people in the family can use the printer as needed from their own PCs

Yeah I've left it at that...however it just feels like I'm wasting the print server function of my router.
