Hello, everyone!

I own a Qtek 2020, also known as the XDA II. It runs Windows Mobile 2003 Phone Edition.

The Device Information is the following:
ROM version: 1.03.00 USA
ROM date: 09/24/03
Radio version: 1.05.12
Protocol version: 1337.12
ExtROM version: 1.03.21

I have tried searching for any vendor information about the Qtek 2002. I found out that http://www.HTC.com is the manufactures of the device, but they do not offer any support nor updates nor patches nor firmwares to it on their website.

Though I have found out that if you buy the XDA II as an I-mate or O2, then you will be offered upgrades to it.

As an example, you can download a new rom upgrade, dated december 2003, from the club I-mate website here: http://www.clubimate.com.

However, I cannot not find any upgrades or new patches or new firmwares for the people that have bought the Qtek 2020, which is without any Mobile Provider Company, and is therefore SIM unlocked.

Can anybody help us that have bought the Qtek 2020, and tell us where we can download new patches, updates or firmwares for it? :?:

It anyone know whom to contact for more information, we would like to get just an email or a website link.

Hope anyone can help. :?:

I think we will be many owners of the Qtek 2020 and we will be wanting the support and upgrades for it as all the other O2 and I-mate XDA II owners.

Best regards,
and have a Happy New Year! :)

You shouldn't need any patch for now. If anyone is to be available, it'll be on www.carrierdevices.com.au or the site you pointed in your posting.

The page you are referring to, freitasm, is only for the I-Mate XDA II, and not for the Qtek 2020. Therefore none of the patches available for the I-Mate can be used.

So please can anyone else help us that have bought the Qtek 2020, and tell us where we can download new patches, updates or firmwares for it?

There's not i-mate XDA II. There's i-mate Phone Edition and i-mate Smartphone.

The QTEK 2020 is the same i-mate.

Incorrect statement you did.

No where on the Qtek 2020 it says that it is an i-Mate. Furthermore there is a logo on the i-mate saying that it is the "i-mate".

On the Qtek there is a "Qtek" logo and the firmware versions (rom, radio stack, bluetooth stack) on the Qtek 2020 are not the same versions as the i-mate's.

Therefore Qtek 2020 is not using the same firmwares as the i-mate.
But the Qtek 2020 and the i-mate are both the new XDA II just with different firmware, and the i-mate has apparently got more support/firmware updates than the Qtek version.

Furthermore if you enter in the EMEI number from the Qtek 2020 on the register page on http://www.clubimate.com you get the answer that it is not supported by clubimate.com.

This is the reason why we are looking for the vendors supporting the Qtek 2020 product.

The vendor that is selling the Qtek 2020 here in Denmark - Europe, does not know where to get updates/firmwares for it.

Are you talking about Dangaard?

My statement was simply implying that the machines are in essence the same.

Ok, you are true about the two machines being the same - hardware-wise.

No, I was not talking about Dangaard.
The company we are using is called PDAnmark.dk. They are a Danish company specialized in selling PDA devices, especially Pocket PCs.

Maybe we should try to contact Dangaard, if you known that they are offering support for the Qtek 2020.

Have you tried http://www.qtek.se/? Or more to the point http://www.qtek.se/default.asp?id=50&element=43?

This site is run by Brightpoint Sweden. They only distribute the hardware (as they do around the world) but might now something else?

And of course http://www.dangaard.no or again to the point: http://www.windowsmobile.no?

Well, this is all I know. For now. Anyone else?
