Here's a good one for those in the know. SIP (not the software input panel). SIP the telephony protocol. This is in the .NET 4.2 Platform Builder release.

Well, SIP can go peer to peer as well. With the release of PPC Mobile 2003 there are some VoIP f(x) in that SDK. You can also
set up a SIP server and registrar via .NET as well.

The question is were does MS draw the distinction between offering
the SIP f(x). Since SIP can go peer to peer you should be able to develop your own softphone using the API set.

Has anyone here beyond a hardware vendor messed with the API yet or are familar with this? The basic idea here is great as if you have
DSL and use the .NET SIP server you should be able to call
anyone via the internet who has a similar setup. So if you have a nice Wi-Fi setup and an Ipaq your in.
