View Full Version : Help - AS Keeps Cutting Out on New Computer

I am getting desparate so any suggestions would be appreciated. Recently purchased new laptop. Installed AS 3.7.1 and tried to sync my Axim X5. AS recognized the Axim and asked me if I wanted new partnership on this computer. I said yes. It then lists all the items to sync, Calendar, Inbox, etc.

It seems to sync everything fine except when it gets to Inbox then numerous problems begin. First it constantly updates the hieiarchy, then it will sync many more messages then are shown in inbox.

That is it will show syncing X of YYY where YYY is a much higher number than what my laptop inbox shows. As it progresses toward completing the sync of these messages, AS on the screen of the notebook will simply go away. The icon in the systray will continue to spin as will the two arrows on the Axim (the ones near the speaker icon).

The porocess has completed once or twoice but it will then show a large # of unresolved items - items that synced jsut fine on the other laptop.

For the life of me I can not get this to work and sync properly. I had very little problem on my old notebook but nothing but trouble with the new one.

Do you sync the device with any other computers?

I ask bc if I have a partnership set up on my home computer and then try to set up partnership at work it will not work - it tells me it can't sync Inbox when device has two partnerships. But - if I delete the home partnership and install only on work, Inbox syncs fine. then I go home and add the home partnership and next time I sync at work - Inbox syncs fine.

If you can't get it to work you might try backing up your pst file on the PC. then make a new pst with only a fre contacts and a few emails in the inbox. Then sync those few items and see if it works.

If it does, you could then import the data from the backed up pst into your fresh clean pst. And cross your fingers.
