I currently use my IPAQ 3950 / PPC 2002 syncing my email and calendar with Outlook 2000.
If I upgrade to Pocket PC 2003, will I still be able to talk to Outlook 2000, or does it only talk to Outlook 2002?
I understand an ActiveSync upgrade is also needed, correct?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi,
I upgraded to Mobile 2003 and got no Problems with my Outlook 2000. Contacts, tasks, email and calender all works fine. Sometimes I get problems with my mailsync, as I had with PPC 2002 too, but with new Mails or moving Mails from the Inbox to another Folder fixes the problem...

Don't count on Outlook 2003 (the business contact manager portion) working with PPC - that is a non-functioning item. I would't upgrade Outlook beyond 2002.

Hmmm...but I am using Outlook 2003 at work. I haven't noticed any problems with my PPC2002 device, but perhaps I'm not asking of it what it will not do. Can you explain more? I must look into this further.

IowaArchitect is talking about one special addon (http://www.microsoft.com/office/outlook/contactmanager/prodinfo/default.mspx) of Outlook 2003. I don't think it comes with every edition, in fact. From my limited experience, Outlook 2003 itself works just fine with ActiveSync...

But Outlook 2003 will still synchronize standard contacts even if Business Contact Manager is installed, won't it? I've only played with BCM a tiny bit and that was on a machine that didn't sync with anything else.

I sync with OL 2000 at work, go home and sync with OL2003. I have no problems at all. I have an iPaq 2215.
