Here are a few. (This was a lot of fun, but a touchpad has to be THE worst way to do this - no control whatsoever, so I mine didn't turn out as well as they could have. Some of them on that site are amazing but I could easily tell they had a good old mouse to do it - some of them are so intricate that there's just no way they could have used a touchpad. Not to mention, that site is so popular, it's really bogged down. But it was fun nonetheless! :D )
You can see mine HERE (http://www.pbase.com/az1/snow)

The little red thingy on a Thinkpad isn't the greatest way to do this either. :D

Heck, I just had to give it a shot. I don't know folks, even with a mouse, it was still kind of tricky getting the scissors to go where I wanted. I think it turned out okay, though.....

I'm there trying to make simple shapes out of that piece of paper, you're making delicate curves, interweaved patterns, and saying it's "okay." That is amazing, although it does show how much free time you must have....

Here's my attempt: http://snowflakes.lookandfeel.com/flake.php?id=864511&output=png&size=600
The php output script is pretty cool. It can output to JPEG, PNG and BMP formats, and you can enter any size: here's mine as a 1280 pixel wide PNG (only 26 kilobytes!): http://snowflakes.lookandfeel.com/flake.php?id=864511&output=png&size=1280 If you enter a format it doesn't understand you get the JPEG output (I tried GIF, XCF, and TIF and got the exact same file, verified with a checksum). I wonder why the author is using JPEG, when PNG is far smaller in this case? The JPEG output doesn't appear to be compressed significantly, as it is about the same size as the BMP output.
I guess I'm a geek.
Merry Christmas! :)

I'd like to request on behalf of any 56k users here that anyone who direct-links their snowflake change the url to ask for a PNG image, like so:
"...flake.php?id=895088&output=jpg&size=600"
to
"...flake.php?id=895088&output=png&size=600"
Please! We don't need 280kb JPEG images when PNG images look better and are 250kb or more smaller! I'm using cable to access this site and these images are slow-loading.
That said... Nice flake, Jack. :D

Good idea, Tom. I had overlooked that in the URL, and changing mine to a PNG radically increased the download time.
