which is better?
socket claims low power consumption. but is it really "better" than sandisk?
by brand i have greater respect for socket than I do sandisk though =)

I believe both of them use the SyChip chipset, so theoretically they're very similar. However, I have heard better things about Socket support too.

Not only theoretically, they are exactly the same card. The only difference is the price... I donīt know about support. :)

Really? i.e., you could interchange the two drivers?

Are you absolutely sure about this? Or is this an educated guess?
I have heard of issues with the SanDisk card that don't occur with the Socket card. For instance, I have heard reports that PocketWinC doesn't work with the SanDisk card - but - it works great on my Socket card. I have also heard reports of trouble when using WEP with the SanDisk card - again, I am using 128 bit WEP and MAC address filtering with my Socket card without any troubles.
Maybe the difference is the drivers? Or maybe it is a different card.
