Hey what is the difference between the SD regular card and the SD ultra card? I know the ultra runs at 10MB per second but what does the regular card run at? Would buying an ultra make a difference in speed for a pocket pc purpose?

Sandisk's ultra card is much better than their really crappy, slow and reather unrealiable (ok ok... people have had mixed experiences with sandisk) SD card.

To answer your question, standard SD cards write at 2MB a second. But this varies between brands, especially since they use different SD controllers/chipsets.

All Panasonic cards 256MB and above already have been achieving 10MB/s speeds so all sandisk has really done is improve their lineup to match panasonic. And yes, it does make a significant difference - mostly write speeds. You'll also notice that if you use the card in a digital camera.
However, do note that the type of reader (e.g. using a SD reader to transfer files is hell quicker than say, using a USB 1.0 activesync connection) and your ppc device/processor also has an effect on the speed you can read/write files.
