Im looking to get a new PDA. Still haven't decided between the 1945 or 2215 yet. But 90%of the auctions on ebay seem to be for refurbished PDA's.
Getting a used PDA is fine with me if it can save me $100 bucks or so. But I've never purchased anything refurbished before and I am not too sure about it. Lots of 2215's go for $300 refurbished and a 1 year warranty. Can also find a used one for around $300 often, sometimes with accessories, but often with either no warranty or less than half a year left.
What do you guys think? Are refurbished products usually "Good as new" as they say?

I'm not basing this on any experience, but if I were in your position, I'd choose refurb over used just for the warranty reason alone. With refurb you can generally expect it to be "something like new", which is harder to guarantee buying used from an individual. If you get one from a company and have a warranty, and it turns out the screen is all wonky, there's something you can do about it.

In some cases you can get new for a little over $300. Just have to shop around to find the deals. But if I were you, I'd get refurb for the warranty.

I've had two refurbished PDA's - one Axim and one 1945 - both arrived in excellent condition.

I've won an auction on ebay for a new 2210 at $304 about a week ago. Should arrive on Wed., cant wait , this is my first ppc. To get to the point, if you are willing to spend around 300, i think with a little searching you can find it new with full waranty.
I recently had to swap out my Axim and Dell sent me a refurbished one. Because I'd had my Axim quite a while I knew I wouldn't get a brand new replacement and I was concerned because mine was in 100% perfect physical condition. I would have hated to have a beaten up one.
I needn't have worried. I could only tell the replacement was refurbished because of a label saying so. It really was "good as new". If my experience is typical of refurbished units, no-one should worry about getting one.

Absolutely none. The 2215 is sold to consumers, 2210 is sold to business as far as i know. No difference hardware wise.

2215 is sold to people in the United States and in Canada it is sold as the 2210. There is also the 2215e (Enterprise Edition) that comes with a better warranty and another battery in the box for $64 more.
Refurbished units are fine in my opinion because when they are refurbed by the manufacturer, they are put to brand new standards again - but they cannot sell it as new and therefore they have a lower price, because someone else has had them. Its like a house, you have a 1970s house that you totally redid and it looks brand new, but you have to sell it as a 1970s house.
