Hi all,
I've been playing around with the 4100 and ran into an interesting problem that hasn't come up with other PPCs I've tested.
In order to do a Wi-Fi battery drain test, I created a web page that has slightly different content every time someone visits. (This prevents caching). I will typically point my PPC at this web page with a full battery, screen set to 50% (doesn't turn backlight off), and see how long it can go before it hits 10%.
I've never had a problem with this testing methodology until the 4100. It refused to complete the test. it would get up to page 1600 or so and then refuse to load any other pages -- even after a soft reset. If I let it rest for a day or so, it would work again (up to the 1600 page limit). It would also work if I did a hard reset on it (again, only up to 1600 pages).
I discovered that if I periodically flushed the Temp internet files from the cache, it would work OK... It's just interesting that I've never had this problem with any other PPC I've tested. (I've done about 10 of them).
Has anyone else run into similar problems?
The website for testing is http://vetpda.ucdavis.edu/BatTest.cfm if you want to try it yourself...
BTW, I'm getting about 2 hours, 15 min of life out of the 4100.
