I recently became interested in purchasing an ipaq 4150 and due to the discount I can get for being a student and the free sd card they're offering i figured i'd purchase it through hp. Unfortunately, the specs for the 4150 on the educational site don't match those on the normal one. The educational site shows a 900 mAh battery vs the 1000 mAh battery. However, i doubt that hp packages the 4150 differently just for educational affiliation, but to be sure I called them. The guy I spoke with seemed to be just as lost as I was saying that he wasn't sure why it listed 900 mAh but that it was probably a typo and would contact the web people and told me that i should check the website again in a few days. Not his fault, but that means there's no way to be sure what battery really comes with this thing unless someone out there has bought it through the educational site. Can anyone who has experience with hp's educational site clarify?

Thanks

I would call HP technical support. They should know exactly what will be in your iPAQ. Their number is 800.474.6836. Whatever you do don't ask the sales people at hpshopping.com, I have found them to be less than helpful. Good luck.

the battery is 1000 mah. I just got it in the mail, and verified visually that the battery is 1000. BTW if you are on their site, sign up to win one of the gifts they are giving away. if you sign up, you get a coupon code for $50 of any purchase of $269 or more. I sued this, and bought on the education site, and I only paid $349.00 for my 4150. (plus tax) shipping was free too. a great deal.

Wow, thanks. You just saved me another $50. And it makes sense that the battery is in fact 1000 mah b/c the 900 one should not even fit on the 4150.

I also want to take advantage of the Free SD card offer they have but i'm not sure if their terms render me ineligible.

It says:

"Only purchases made by an end-user customer or a commercial business from an authorized HP reseller in the United States, Canada, or their territories are valid. Purchases by HP resellers and internal HP orders are ineligible"

What exactly is considered an internal order? Would purchasing through their educational site be considered internal?

I just called HP twice. The first guy didn't know, the second one said that if there is any discount on the purchased product, such as an employee discount/educational discount than the rebate does not apply. Oh well. Anyone know of some cheap reliable SD memory?
