I am very pleased with the end result. Let me tell you about some of the features of the new site. When you look at the forums, the thing I have wanted since purchasing www.pocketpcminds.com was forums that could be read on mobile devices. When you visit this site from a Pocket PC, Palm OS device or a Smart Phone the site sniffs the type of browser you are using then directs you to the right page. So you can read, post and reply to any of our forums from either your desktop or your mobile device. We have also add a first from what I have seen. Our forums display similar threads. So if you are reading about a Smart Phones then other Smart Phone threads will be displayed at the bottom of the page. In testing I have found this to be a great new feature I hope you will agree.

The mobile forums also allows you to read the Microsoft public news groups for the following devices; Tablet PC's, Smart Phones, and Pocket PC's. I have looked for newsgroups on Palm OS devices or Symbian based Smart Phones to add to this list however, I have not found them. If you can point me to these newsgroups let me know and we will add them."

Isn't "Palm minds" an oxymoron?

Very interesting - and quite ambitious to try and have so many personalized sites under one roof. It seems to me that this would be stretching yourself too thin, and it would be better to have one site that discussed the topics. But I suppose that having a dedicated staff and good visitor base could make this a major site.

Too bad it still looks like a young site - lacking reviews and registered members.

It looks like a decent site - decent layout and some interesting content already.

However, :( I did get nailed with a Circuit City Pop-Up my Pop-Up stopper didn't catch. Let me make myself clear to any website that wants my traffic-- NO POPUPS.

Mobileminds won't become a regular stop for me until they end this pratice. I'll check back a few times, but if I still receive Pop-Up adds I'll go elsewhere for my news. I know advertising supports these sites, and I even appreciate some of the banner ads, and click on them, but I just hate pop-up advertising.

It looks like Thoughts Media (http://www.thoughtsmedia.com) has some new competition. :D

I read a lot of sites, Pocket PC Minds included, and dude... No one competes with this site. They just exist as well :-)

There are some great ones out there, but this one is by far the best.

Jason,

Thanks for the mention on your site. This is a big undertaking for me and the rest of the team but the good news is that I have brought on other staff to handle the other sections of the website.

As for the pop-up ads I was not aware of them until somebody told me about them. I hate those too and I have blocked them from showing up anymore. We have lots of things to fix still but we are very excited that have finally launched the new sites.

I think it's a credit to Jason that he points stuff like this out. I mean, we all use more than one site. Jason isn't afraid to let his site stand on what it is... I cruise around to see different viewpoints, and occasionally see news reported elsewhere that isn't reported here... But, I made up my mind a while back to have one home... and this is it! I can always count on any important news being posted immediately, and the people on the forums are really nice and helpful for the most part, so I know that if I post, I'll get good feedback (and I try to do so for others when I can).

A long time ago, when I got one of the first Compaq iPAQ 3600s, PDABuzz.com was my "home." That was a cool community, until it was neutered by a corporate takeover...

PocketPC Thoughts is, in my opinion, the best PPC site around.

This new group of sites seems to have a very large staff (or group of buddies) running it so they will probably be able to keep up. I was a little confused by the forums that seem to have messages months old on a brand new site, I just thought it was odd.

As for PocketPC Thoughts, their alright... Just kidding! This is the PocketPC site on the net. I was a PocketPC Passion fan in the past but the long spell with no updates made me stop checking it.

I am so hung up on SmartPhones and my own site (http://www.mpx200.org) that I spend little of my day PocketPCing it but when I do, this is my only reference and I think it does a very nice job.

Kudos to Jason and the gang...

I agree, but on another level. The first thing I noticed was that there was a PPC Minds and a Palm Minds. I realize that it's possible to like both platforms, but I like how Jason has dedicated himself to PPC and hasn't branched out to a PalmThoughts site just to make a buck. I'll side with passion over commercialism any day.

Agreed. I'm already committed to SmartPhone thoughts for both the content and it's timeliness. I had been checking out PhoneScoop for a while, but it can be days on end before new items are posted.

Pocket PC Minds has been around for 2 years that why we have so many PPC related post already they came from the old site.

I realize that it's possible to like both platforms

This family of site is born from my passion for mobile technology in general. Some people believe to like one you have to hate the other. I see good points in all of the products covered on my sites. As for doing it for money reasons. At this point I just want it to pay for itself. Until you do something like this you would not believe the costs that you have to pay for services. As I could not write code to save my life. We have built this site with people donated thier skills and the me paying for the rest

By the way Debbie from www.McDeb.com did the site design and her mother is in the hospital. She is not doing very well at all. So all of our prayers should be with her and her mother.

Those of you who don't know Debbie she create most of the best Pocket PC theme's out there.

Sorry, but I didn't mean to imply that you're doing this only for profit. I know that the vast majority of web-related businesses struggle to get by. I guess what I meant to convey, is that I'll be more likely to look for guidance and insights on a site that promotes only one end of the spectrum - the one that I already lean towards. On the other hand, maybe your diversity will make you more objective. Hmmm... :? :)

Linking to thoughtsmedia lead me to your book on Amazon.
Is there and electronic version of the book?

The reason i ask is becasue the book was inexpensive but the delivery to Australia was 3.5 x more expensive!
