Can someone recommend a sdio wifi card for my Axim x3? I don't use wireless that much, but once in a while, I'll need it. Will there be a big performance difference between a third-party wifi sdio card and having had wireless built-in, as in the x3i?

Also, I'd like a portable keyboard to go with the x3. Does anyone have any experience with the various keyboards and can you recommend one?
Thanks.

You may as well go for built-in. That way you don't waste an expansion slot.

I believe SDIO WiFi cards have not been a glorious success to date - being somewhat buggy (though this may just have been the one card).

I know that some argue that there may be a CF or SD 802.11g card available - and so want to stick with a card based solution so their WiFi doesn't become out of date. Frankly those people are living in cloud cuckoo land. Even if 802.11g can be sufficiently shrunk down its power drain will suck a PPC battery dry in minutes - if we get a 'g' soluion at all it will be a long way down the line.

One possible positive for an SD WiFi card - if you only use WiFi very occasionally - and don't mind the hassle of a card based solution - it might be worth going down that route...

He's already using an X3, so telling him to get a new device isn't great advice. ;-)

To answer your question academicpc, no, there's no performance difference by going with an SDIO WiFi card. I haven't used any keyboards for the X3, so I can't help there.

Whoops - misread the question!
