View Full Version : Avantgo on iPAQ 5550?

Hello

I have followed all the instructions to set up Avantgo on my iPAQ 5550.

The content is synched to the iPAQ, all 400 pages. I can even see where the pages content went, into \WINDOWS\Avantgo on the iPAQ.

Now how do I view this content? The only mention of Avantgo on the iPAQ is the Avantgo Channesl link in the favourites in PIE. Click on that, and it tells me how to set up Acantgo synchronisation, this I have already done.

So how do I broswse the content?

I had no idea they would make it so hard to get at. The old iPAQs just had a link from the default home page.

What shows in you address bar when you tap on the AvantGo link from the favorites?

I have a 3955 with WM2003 and I noticed that it goes to a HTML file called agdefault.htm before it opens the avantgo home page.

It does show agdefault.htm.

And that is the page it stays on. Thats the one that shows the directions to synch Avantgo content.

What is the contents of that file on your PC, can you post that here?

Tap on your favorites icon in PIE. Avantgo channels link is in there.

When I look at that .htm file, it is a redirect to the following without the quotes...
'avantgo://avantgo/home'

I would just type that in the address bar and go from there. My best guess is that file should have been changed when you synced with AvantGo for the first time. Here is the contents of that file...

Hello

I tried that address manually avantgo://avantgo/home. I saw that was where my workmates old iPAQ was forwarding to. The address does not work on mine.

Amazing, 400 pages of content synched, and no way to view it...

To SteveW, I did click on the Avantgo Chanels link in Favourites in PIE, which is how I got to the instructions page.

Not sure where to go from here.

I did a search here against AvantGo in the Software forum and found several threads. The one's I read were for the 2200 and they have to do hard resets in order for it to start working. I know you have the 5550, but it is worth a try. They all seemed to have the same problems as you are. Let us know if this does the trick.
