Version 2.0 is buggy!!!!

I have been in contact with Omega One. Apparent (my problem) is that when 2.0 is active and I try to play any game, the game slows down tremendously! Omega One sent me a test Journal Bar to see if the problem is fixed, but it didn't work.

Also, apparently they are having problems with proxy servers also.

Omega One suggest that I use version 1.43 until a fix can be released.

I am now trying the trial version of Weather Today.

Just thought I'd let you guys know.

I've been usung version 2 for a fews days and have had problems as well. The main one is that JB sometimes wants to connect when I don't have a connection available. As a result, I keep getting that "unable to connect with your current settings" warning. The only way to get rid of it is to soft reset.

At the moment, I'm also back on the old version. I'm sure it will be fixed, the previous version was great. I would advise waiting a while before installing Journal Bar 2.0.

I saw this as well. Don't soft reset. Scroll back one screen and tap the green checkmark. Answer yes. Then remember to go back and re-enable before syncing or updating via WiFi.

Also, I play games all of the time with no issues. I have not noticed any problems with their proxies. One thing I have noticed is it seems it does use more resources then 1.4. Lock ups are occuring, but I have not had any when playing games. I also cleaned up /temp, My Documents and soft resetted and have not had a lock up since.

Problem is not with their proxies, but when JB 2.0 tries to access the internet behind your web proxy (if one exists).

I have also had problems:

1. Sometimes, I hot synch without an internet connection to install software, transfer files, etc. Whenever this occurs, Journal Bar repeatedly tries to connect to the internet, even after I stop the hot synch. The result is multiple "I am unable to connect to the Internet" warnings. The only way I have found to stop it is with a soft reset.

2. The repeated "failed connection" problem also occurs occasionally even without a hot synch.

3. During set up, the new Journal Bar has yet to find a connection to the Internet even though I am connected either through a LAN or a DSL connection using my computer.

I have decided to stick with the prior version of Journal Bar, at least for now.

I have often had the problem with JB when I first install it. I usually play with the settings....turn on proxy, soft reset, turn off proxy, soft rest...that kind of deal. Once I finally get a refresh either thru ActiveStink or WiFi it just works every time.

Again, if your having net issues temporarily or you forget, you can turn off the ability to get from the internet. This makes those bubbles go away, You don't have to soft reset.

Now, to rant about soft resetting. I have often found alot of times that my memory fills up and the pda starts to act sluggish. Soft resetting is a band aid and temporaily fixes it. If you find yourself doing alot of soft resets (more then one a day), try cleaning out your caches and your temp directory. Also manage the running tasks a bit better. I still wish Microsoft would GIVE UP on having the OS manage the resources....it does not work. Make the X an X. Let the X close the app. I hope I don't start another flame war with that one! :D

That's where Battery Pack, also from Omega One is good.

The Clean Up utility gets rid of the cache files and you can make the X
an X.
