Many of you are already familiar with Speero Software's Voice Translator. It's a speech recognition-enabled phrasebook that allows the user to speak an English word or phrase into a Pocket PC and then hear its translation in any of twenty languages. Now, Speero has added a new twist to its product by partnering with Highbury Columbus Travel Publishing, which produces travel guides.

If you're a Speereo Voice Translator registered user, you'll be able to download electronic Columbus travel guides from the Columbus Web site, giving you just about everything you need for a trip to a foreign country (except the Imodium). I haven't traveled outside of the U.S. for a while (thanks in part to stringent bail constraints), but the next time I do, these are just the kinds of Pocket PC tools I'll want to take along.
