Hi there

In a couple of threads on the support (or lack of it) for the Ipaq slim keyboard under Windows Mobile 2003 a beta driver has been mentioned - sent out by HP Support to frustrated users.

I've just asked HP about this - they deny all knowledge of its existence! So is this beta driver a myth or real? And if real, can anyone tell where I can download a copy?

Many thanks

Paul

If this is the keyboard you mean

http://www.shopping.hp.com/cgi-bin/hpdirect/shopping/scripts/product_detail/product_detail_view.jsp?product_code=FA118A%23ABA&script_name=product.cgi

The one the sides pull out and the center pops up, then this is the driver

If you are talking about the thumb keyboard, I haven't found a driver but all three keyboards

FA118A#ABA iPAQ™ foldable keyboard [Add $99.99]
FA162A#AC3 iPAQ™ Micro Keyboard [Add $39.99]
FA141A#ABA iPAQ™ slim thumb keyboard expansion pack [Add $59.99]

are listed as options for the 4155 in the small business section at HP. I would guess they would have to come with WM2003 drivers ;)

This is the Slim Keyboard:

And the drivers that come with it do not really support WM2003. This is most noticeable if you use a wired GPS.

The drivers that come with it (ver 1.18) sort of work - but as soon as you turn your Ipaq off they go to sleep so you have to reenable the keyboard each time you want to use it... Not exactly ideal in a default text entry method...
