View Full Version : H4150 and Tom Tom navigation
Aloha
Very simple ?, Have anyone tried to load Tom tom on a Ipaq 4150 and does it work. Can I be sure the software will run on this IPAQ? I think so, but I just wanted to check with other people in this forum before I get it

I've been using this software since early this summer, and it should run on any Pocket PC that is running PPC 2002 or later, including WM2003. There should be no reason why it wouldn't work with the 4100 series iPAQ.
I've had it running on a 5455 running both PPC2002 and WM2003, a 1945 running WM2003, and even a Casio E200 running PPC 2002. I will pass your question on to TomTom directly, as I have a few contacts there, but I see no reason why you shouldn't love TTN on your 4100!

I have been speaking to tomtom support and they assured me that it is working. I just need to invest in the GPS from Tomtom and the maps and hey I should not be lost again :-)

A linkback brought me here ;-)
You might want to look at the GpsPasSion "pros and cons" list before making a decision - http://www.gpspassion.com/en/software/NavOverview.htm as well as the TomTom detailed review - http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=64
TomTom does have some rather problematic issues with determining good routes in this current version, which is strange because in Europe it's consistently good at that. Some people have come up with all kinds of explanations for why that might be...http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2527
Sorry if this doesn't help with your choice at first, but better know where you're going ;-)

I have posted a very detailed review of TTN USA on pocketnow.com. I did bump into this bug with calculating routes; but can assure you that the latest, soon to be released, version has resolved these issues.
You can see the review here:

Haven't you signed an NDA ;-)
As usual, the proof is in the pudding and we'll see what happens in the future, but for now, it's best for people to be aware of this problem.
