How come there are not more discussions about the Nov 24 start date for (W)LNP (Wireless Local Number Portability)? Can we expect at least some other carriers to try to match T-Mo's unlimited GPRS pricing (or heck, we could switch to T-Mo while keeping our number)...

Ironically I just added another line to my ATTWS account and extended the contract for an existing line. But then I'm a sucker

There's been some discussion of it on SPT. I'll probably do a post on the 24th itself. It's indeed good news, but the irony is, in the past, if I wanted to switch I just switched and emailed everyone my new number. In fact, I recently switched to Verizon and did just that.

Let's hope there are going to be deals, but I suspect that there won't be from Verizon -- they're expected to gain through WLNP. :| I wouldn't mind some discount though...

Janak, I'm just like you. The people in my life knew that every year they were going to get a new cell phone number from me  I think the changing of number were a bigger pain in the butt to my loved ones than to me.

I'm glad that the number keep is in play, though.
