Last name vs. first name in searching contacts

In Contacts, when you enter the first few letters of a name in the search field, is there any way to only get people whose LAST names start with the entered letters, as opposed to LAST and FIRST names?

Like say you enter "Jo" into the search field. Currently, the PPC will come up with entries like "Smith, John" and also "Jones, Mike". Is there any way to get it to just give ONLY "Jones, Mike" as a result?

I don't think so. It is searching the whole nama field to give you the best odds of finding the desired contact.
