Hi guys. My father just gave my girlfriend a new and nice 5450. Problem is it is in Spanish, and my girlfriend rather have it in English. I have the upgrade to 2003 in English but it denies to install itself because of the different language in the target device?

Is there any way to circumvent this?

1. She would rather have the OS in english.
2. We rather not shell out another 30 bucks for this.

Thanks,

Juan

pd. I remember the old hexediting method with the 39xx, tried this but it didnt work... grrr....

To my knowledge, there are no end user based tools to allow this. Anything you do will violate the OS license agreement she received with the device.

Even if you bought an upgrade for this device, you'd run into the same problem with the ROM not installing due to the language difference on the target device.

You **MIGHT** be able to send it to HP and get them to do it for you; but I have no idea how much that would cost...or even if they would do it. You may have to return the device for a US/ UK English device.

Kind Regards,

If I buy the upgrade, will it work?
