Hey guys,
I've been looking into getting handheld for a little while now and i can't make my decision between the 1945 and the 2215. The 2215 seems to be exactly the same as the 1945 with an extra cf slot and a different processor. Not needing the cf slot that badly (I'm not a hardcore user), I would like to know more detail about the differences between these 2 processors, the 266 samsung and the 400 intel xscale. I have heard that the 400 intel was much faster and i have also heard that the 266 was comparable to the xscale. Do you think the 400 mhz 2215 is worth the extra 100 bucks i'll have to dish out? Thanks for your advise.

If you want to add wifi later on you may want to go with the 2215. You can add wifi to the 1945 through a SD card but you loose your slot for memory. At least with the 2215 you can add a Cf or SD wifi card and still have an extra slot for some memory on your device.

If you want to buy a PDA, I dont think buying a Samsung or Intel chip is going to achieve anything lol.

I think you should only have PDA options for the poll.

The 2215 is way faster in my personal experience, faster is better my friend! The 206mhz in the old Jornadas was slow, who wants to have a 266 now when 400 is available?

MHz differences don't necessarily translate into real speed. From what I've heard, the 266MHz Samsungs are comparable in speed to the 400MHz XScales.

In short, I wouldn't use this as a metric. I think you'll be happy with either the 1940 or the 2215's performance.

Now, a bigger issue might be the fact that a 1940 doesn't have a serial port -- so if you want to do a lot of word processing, and attach an external keyboard, definitely go for the 2215. Only BT and IR keyboards would work with the 1940, and I don't know of any BT ones that are available.
