Picking the right Pocket PC is always difficult, because there are so many variables to consider. I've seen a few questions posted in our forums lately asking the "What should I buy?" question, so I wanted to point people to resources to help with this decision.

The first is this great online article by Lisa Gade from pdabuyersguide. It's quite detailed, although it is two months old now and doesn't cover the newer models from Dell and Compaq. It's a good place to start.

Pocket PC Magazine's "Ultimate Buyer's Guide 2004" is chock-full of solid info, but two articles stand out in particular: Rich Hall put together a great round-up of all the Pocket PCs on the market (and even some that will never arrive, like the JVC iO). The most useful article though is by Don Sorcinelli: it's a systematic process through which he distills all the factors that differentiate Pocket PCs models from one another, and Don explains what each element means and why it's important. If you're looking to buy a new Pocket PC, or if you know someone who is, pick up the Ultimate Buyers Guide 2004 - it's a great resource. It would be even better if they had been able to include the 4100 and 4300 iPAQs, but printing lead times are usually in excess of six weeks, so it's very difficult to get late-breaking information into the pages.

I'm also a big fan of Dave's PDA Place (http://www.davespda.com/) if I want to compare models.
