FINALLY, got the Storage Brick to work on Windows Mobile 2003 (IPAQ 5455)! :D

To use the Storage Brick with WM2003, do the following:
1. Download this driver:
http://www.rexpccard.co.jp/english/support/driver/cfu1_2003.html
2. Extract the driver to a folder
3. Run setup.exe from the MassStorageDriver folder

Your "personal plug" doesn't work in my browser.

EDIT: What exactly isn't supposed to work? I'm not having any problems.

His "Personal Plug" is a link to a book on Barnes&Nobles that he supposedly wrote.

The Storage Brick driver only works on Pocket PC 2002. The driver is based on the ATADISK.DLL from Windows CE 3.0. It will not work and does not work on Windows Mobile 2003, which is built from Windows CE 4.2.

Others, like myself, have tried to get the Storage Brick (an external hard drive via pcmcia) working on Windows Mobile 2003 and have had no success. The creator of the original driver does not respond to email and it doen't look like he is planning on updating the driver anytime soon.

This posting shows how to get the Storage Brick working on Windows 2003 using a completely different driver. So far the driver works on Windows Mobile 2003 for the IPAQ 54xx and not the 55xx.

If you used to use the Storage Brick on 2002 and can't get it to work on 2003, give this driver a try.

I meant his website. It pops a JavaScript message saying, "Netscape Detected: Please note that this site is not yet fully compatible with Netscape. Please switch to a Microsoft browser."

I hadn't considered upgrading to PPC2003 simply because the Storage Brick driver wouldn't work, and my iPaq would be useless to me without it. So, much thanks from at least one who values the effort.

BTW, I too experienced the excitement of having a book I had a major part in creating and seeing it for sale at Amazon and Barnes & Noble. I wanted to share that with others at the time, too. Congratulations. Most people have absolutely no idea or appreciation for the amount of work involved in such an undertaking.

It says that they have gottin it to work on the 2215, and the 3970, but there are problems with the 5550.

I can't get it to work with my 5550.
