i'm looking to get a used ipaq off ebay (i sold my e330)... i'm looking at either a 3800 or 3900 series model... will there be anything major I won't be able to do if I get a 3800 w/ a 206MHz StrongARM versus a 3900 series with 400MHz XScale?

If you are going to buy a used 3800 for aroung $175.00, why not just buy a better PDA for a few dollars more?

There were also a lot of problems that were solved with the 3900 series. Honestly, if you can't afford the 3900, then get a 3765. The stability of the 3800 series sucked! That's one of the reasons why I ditched my 3800 on eBay.

My 3955 was much, MUCH more stable. I wouldn't get the 3800. I don't think you'll be as happy as you would with the 3900.

Kind Regards,

NO! He didn't want advise on what to get, remember? Not to mention if you do a search on eBay for iPaq 3835 and then search completed auctions the range is between $120-$200, most being in the $175 range.

He wanted to know what he would be missing if he bought a 3800 vs. a 3900.

He would be missing STABILITY. The 3800 iPAQ was the Yugo of the iPAQ line, IMHO. I really didn't like mine. My 3900 was much more stable , and I was able to do a lot more with it because it was more stable.

screw it, i bought an axim :-PGood decision - if it was a choice between a 38xx and an Axim I'd go for the latter every time. Chris is right about the screen and stability of the 38xx.
