Use a desktop browser like Internet Explorer and/or use Pocket IE from your Pocket PC as the remote. You can search all the music in your WMP library, manage the current playlist and control playback.

Why do I want PlayerPal for WMP?

• You'll love Windows Media Player web control from your wireless Pocket PC or desktop
• It has a clear easy to use web based interface (see Pocket IE shots below)
• You can do detailed WMP searches on artist, year, genre and album title
• You can "discover" music by browsing the search results (links for the same year, artist genre etc)
• You can use PlayerPal Remote from all web enabled devices whether local or remote."

i don't know about this madness...but i've been wishing and hoping for the little menu bar to be placed in the taskbar when wmp is minimized. Or even next to the start menu. That would be veeery practicle!!!!

This program is for remotely controlling your WMP on your PC, not your Pocket PC. Although your idea for have Pocket WMP controls in the task bar is a good one.

Interesting, but I see no reason to use this when BrowseAmp (http://www.browseamp.com/) is available.

EDIT: Scratch that. The search functions look very cool. I just have misgivings about using a program as unstable as WMP to serve up music.

I can't seem to get it to work. I opened the server app and went to http://steveyspc/playerpal It will say in red letters " Server application unavailable" Blah blah blah.......... I checked the options in iis and it all seems to be ok. What could be the problem? Thanks

Thank you all for the feedback. Please keep it coming.

stevey500 - I'm not sure what your problem is. Unfortunately, it could be any number of things causing the problem. For an example read this post Fix for: 'Server Application Unavailable' Error after Applying Security Update for IE (http://www.asp.net/faq/ms03-32-issue.aspx). Have you ever had any .NET web application (aspx file extension) work on your IIS?

Tom W.M. - What are your misgivings about WMP stability? We have found the 9 series player to be a superb application.

Don't forget to keep your eye out for PlayerPal Beta2 remote control for WMP which will be shipped later this week!

Agreed - WMP 9 is just fine for casual users and its stable, way too much bashing of WMP - it is what it is :?

I'm sorry. I guess that I didn't think too much about that post. I have had some bad experiences with WMP9, but I usually use it for video playback. My experiences probably don't apply to it as an audio playback app so much. And I agree, WMP9 is a nice app most of the time (but the web intergration...ugh).

Why are you quoting me?

Your remote looks pretty slick (and so does your website 8) ).
