We approached the development process like any other deliverable... creating interfaces we ourselves would want to use. We also added new functions that are present in the new Windows Media Player 9 Series for Pocket PC 2003 - the ability to go to fullscreen when viewing video and mute capabilites."

I know that some of you are going to download and install the skins without looking at the instructions...I don need no steeenking instructions.

There is a small bit though that instructs you to ensure that the desktop to device conversion for bitmap images is set to 'no conversion'. Mine was already that way, so it may be the default. It would be worth checking though so that your .bmp skin parts don't get changed to .2bp pocket bitmap files, which I expect would give results that are un-expected.

Hmmm, it appears the ones that are pictured, the plain colored ones like the purple one in front, are not available for download. Hopefully, that is, not yet. They do have three XBox ads available. I don't want an XBox ad on my PocketPC. I would like a nicer MP9 skin.

The difference between the pictured skins and the ones that are there are the addition of a mute button, a full screen button, a quick link to a media site, and nicer texture, in case you don't notice it.

If someone finds them, post a link.

Kind of disappointing. What is with all the X-Box skins?

The link that that page ultimately connects to was referred to here (http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=179164&sid=9404c545c4ddff4e3ea00a2df8e987ed#179164) several days ago. And most of the skins on that page existed during the WMP8 era.

The Skin Factory make the most impressive skins I've ever seen to date.........but thier WMP skins for PPC look a bit lame and borring, when will somebody out thier give us some funky skins like our main PC WMP skins, I know that the size of the PPC WMP is a hard one but COME ON skin factory lets have some eye candy please!!

I agree that there has been a lack of different WMP skins for the PPC. I have been looking for a nice one for audio that has large print title and track info. It's great to be able to see that info in something other than 9 pt. font when listening in your car or jogging on a treadmill.

There is one WMP 8 skin called powder blue that has the info a little larger, but that skin is a little ugly and dated. (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/software/pocket/custom.aspx)

I use Moonlit Glow (http://download.microsoft.com/download/winmediaplayer/Moonlit/2/WCE/EN-US/Moonlit.exe) for that; there's also Silver Ice (http://download.microsoft.com/download/winmediaplayer/Silver/4/WCE/EN-US/Silver.exe) which might work nicely.

Thanks, Moonlit glow does have some larger print, but I am looking for some really large print. Like Powder Blue, but with a better looking interface. Really any of the new audio only ones would be great, with a large time and track display in the middle.

I guess I want it all!

Well I think the best way to solve this is I use my ye ol' skining skills and try to make some WMP skins, I did try donkeys ago but its a strange thing to skin.
Suggestions?
I quite like to make some outragous designs.

IF NEIL 'THE GOD OF SKINS' FAULKNER IS OUT THERE, GIVE US SOME ASSISTANCE LORD!!

I can't tell you how great that would be. I personally would love to see information in large print for playing audio. Something that would resemble a MP3 player interface would be nice.

Still playing about, WMP is too silly to skin for, far too complicated for its needs be.....sigh
