View Full Version : Filling a web-page field with the IrDA port

I have an application where we need to point a pocket PC at our device and have it fill in a field on a web page on the Pocket PC. We'd prefer that the user only has to press one button, and we plan on using the IrDA port.

There are a lot of pocket PCs at this site and we don't want to have to reinstall software on all of them when there is an update.

So, ideally we would just somehow link the web-page field to the IrDA port. Is this possible?

Another option is to write a tiny app that fills in the field, and beam it to the Pocket PC with each connection. If we did this we would need to have it run automatically as soon as it is beamed to the Pocket PC. Can this be done?

A similar option would be to have the program resident on the Pocket PC, and each time it gets the data for the field it would also check for an update and automatically download and run the new version. Again it would need to auto-run after the transfer.

If you can point me in the right direction on any of these possibilities please reply.

Thanks!
Tim
