Could someone please remind me if there's an 'official' route for wish-list requests for improvements to Microsoft Windows products? I'll then submit the following gripe.
It took a few years but eventually MS Windows fixed a cosmetic irritation in the layout of a My Computer window. Now, in XP Home at least, for standard desktop PC folders, even if a window is very narrow, you can still see the key items at the bottom, e.g.
168 objects 10.1 MB My Computer.
But for PPC folders, the layout remains flawed. You need to widen the folder to around 400 pixels before you can see the crucial item 'Mobile Device'.
As I now have many folders with identical names on both my PC and my PPC, this can be very confusing. Especially when you're trying to drag and drop between folders, both to reorganise within PPC or PC, and to copy between them.
Of course, you can use Tools|Folder Options|View|'Display the full path in the address bar' to help distinguish between PC and PPC folders. But that's an option I don't use because, when narrow, you then cannot see the significant, right-hand part of the path. Catch 22!
BTW, I note that for Mobile Device folders, the middle item, total space used, seems to be absent. Is that info not accessible by the desktop?
Using iPAQ 2210 with WM2003.
