View Full Version : Latest ROM version for Axim X5?

My WM 2003 Axim has horrendous performance when starting up with a CF card inserted (typically a Socket Bluetooth card) - the screen draw for the Start menu will take a couple of seconds, for example. Usually the poor performance lasts for about five seconds, and then things run smoothly again. I want to make sure I have the latest ROM update since I know the first Axim WM 2003 build had serious perf issues. My ROM version is A05 (07170300EN) - is that the latest?

On your start-menu, do you have some apps that are installed on the memorycard?

I've experienced problems with that before, so I removed most 3'rd party apps from the start-menu and moved them to my today-launcher instead.

All I really need is one or two people who are running Windows Mobile 2003 on their Axim to go to Start -> Settings -> System Info and then post to tell me if they have a different ROM number than the one I listed. Could someone please do that for me? Thanks!

I just received the upgrade two weeks ago, and mine is A05.

My Axim is about a month-and-a-half old and it has the same version.

I guess the performance problems I'm seeing is just what happens when you use a CF peripheral (something that needs drivers).

I can't seem to find the new version of PPC on Dell website. Do anyone have a clue where to look ???
