Solar storm makes waves on Earth (http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/space/10/24/solar.forecast/index.html)
<snip>
Satellites, pagers, cell phones and electrical grids can be affected by CMEs. In 2000, one such solar blast briefly knocked out or created steering problems for numerous orbiting spacecraft.

Well, this even has come and gone, and the only thing I noticed was that the steel plate in my head seemed to heat up a bit when I went outside to collect the mail...

Won't be a problem here in the USA...we have a state-of-the-art anti-radiation shield developed to block even the most harmful rays. It's called pollution!

I learned about GeoCaching on PPCT, and I'm an active cache hunter! I guess I won't go tonight either. And I'll have to cancel the annual Paper Clip Tower Building Contest. :lol:
SERIOUSLY: I've heard about some people having trouble getting to certain sites, and I just found out that my company's site is down, too. The one with quintouple redundancy. :roll:

LOL, yup!
Ever notice in the movies that Canada never gets affected by anything?
In wargames, the computer never attacked Canada directly.
In ID4, aliens never invaded Canada (I don't think they did in the last alien movie.. the name eludes me at the moment)
I don't remember if Canada was ever even mentioned in Armageddon.
LOL

Those are exactly the reason why we finally choose canada as our retirement place. I figure that anything bad can happen to the rest of the world, but canada will always be safe. :mrgreen:
So ct, JR, you are still going to be in canada 25 years from now, right ? :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
And honda is also there. I think I need to buy him beer or something for all the bad things that I have said to him ...

Ahh, snow. It gets super bad here too. Once (I was 12/13) and I couldnt see over the snow it was so deep! That was a couple years back... It was so dang high (but now that Global temperatures are rising, hardly any more of huge dumpings of snow! )
