High contrast for E740

Help! Can anyone think of a good solution -- perhaps a good theme / background to improve the contrast on the E740's?

I know we can't get the screen to be any brighter or sharper, but I was thinking that maybe there were a couple of tweaks, or just the right color scheme, background, etc to make the text easier to read...? :?
