Got my X3 today. Will give my wife my HP2215. First observations are:
-X3 seems faster that 2215
-Syncing went off without a hitch
-Screen seems a might clearer, but I have to put the screen protector on yet
-Connected to wireless smoothly. Have never used WiFi before so am still experimenting with it. Have a Microsoft Wireless G Base Station.
-Feels a little heavier that 2215 but not much.
-The base station with it's "DELL" in blue when you're syncing is nice.

I'm going to play with it a while. Took about 4 hours to totally charge.

Thanx for the initial observations. We'll be waiting for the follow-up.

Interesting that it feels heavier then the 2215, since the 2215 weighs 5.1 ounces and the X3 only 4.8 ounces....

well, Igot my X3 yesterday and got it charged up.
So farI have mixed feelings about it.
It definitely seems faster And plays multimedia better than
the X5. I really like the size and weight of the unit
and the screen is a bit brighter than the XS.
On the negative side, so far, I see 3 things that bother me.

the battery issue is a big one. Iam not real happy
with what I see so for -- especially when using the
wireless! It really eats up the battery and with the
smaller batteries available for the X3 it is a major
concern. I hope the third party manufacturers come
out with a higher capacity extended battery than
the one Dell offers. 1800 ma is not enough.

The AC power plug is irksome ,too. WHY couldn't
they just put the same plug the XS had? Using the
docking plug and an adapter works OK but it is more
cumbersome and a little anoying. Wow , they
probably saved all of 1O cents.

Lastly, I ordered a Rhino Skin case from Dell.
It is a beautiful case and looks snazzy. I am sure
it will protect the unit well. However, the Cut out
for the power/synch connector is useless. there is
no way the power can be connected to the plug while
case is on. the Cutout needs to be about a half inch
wider. obviously it was never tested with a released
unit.

All that said, I still like the unit and will Keep it. I
hope for better batteries and need to resolve the
Rhino Skin issue, though.

Can you use the same AC as with X5, just with a adapter that's included?

The reason why I ask is that I have a car-charger for the X5, would I be able to use it with X3?

The X3 I got came with a usb cradle -- the power plug for it is the same as the plug on the bootom
of the X5 ... and te X3 came with an adapter that takes the same plug and adapts it to the bottom
of the X3.

So.... the power plug for the X3 cradle works as an AC plug for the X3 when coupled with the adapter.
Without the adapter the power unit for the cradle is just exactly like the X5 AC unit/plug -- interchangeable.
And if the mobile charger uses the same little plug then it will work just fine withthe adapter and the X3.
Sounds like you won't need a new mobile cord.

Sounds like you won't need a new mobile cord. Thanks for info :-) That is good to hear IF I should deside to swap my X5 with an X3 with integrated WiFi...

I heard directly from Dell that the sync connector on the bottom of the unit is not the same as the X5.

Would you mind posting a few pictures? I know we've seen the promo pics, but it helps to see a device "in real life".

My thoughts as well...I'd love to see some more "real" pics...
