upgrade 3635 to 3700

If I put an iPaq 3765 motherboard into a 3635, does that essentially upgrade it to a 3765? Can it even be done?

I am pretty sure they are almost identical motherboards. You might check to make sure the ribbon connector for the lcd is compatible on both. Other than that, I don't see any problem.
