It apparently fixes ad-hoc connections, idling, and improves VoIP performance. According to PPCT readers, this corresponds to a previous non-LEAP update -- so if you're not using LEAP, this is a moot point.

Fresh on the heels of a ROM update a few weeks ago (http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/HandheldiPAQ/us/download/19479.html) for 5450s and 5550s running Windows Mobile 2003,

Wait, did I miss something (which I'm likely to have)? Was there a new ROM update for the 5400 series running WM2003, or is that refering to the actual upgrade to WM2003 for the 5400 series?

O.K......correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the "ROM Upgrade a few weeks ago" link is only for the 5500 series (not the 5400 series as well), yet the new LEAP driver are for both the 5500 and 5400 series. I may have just read it wrong, but your first post came across to me that the the few week old ROM update was for both series.....sorry for the confusion.

OK, to clarify: the ROM updates from a few weeks ago is ONLY for 5500, NOT for 5400.

Just to clarify... the last ROM update updated the non-LEAP WLAN drivers. This patch is essentially the WLAN portion of that last ROM update, but with LEAP capabilities. This patch will update your WLAN version to 3.2.2.123, which is the same as what's in the ROM upgrade.

I'm basically pointing this out due to Janak's comments that the the non-LEAP driver hasn't been updated. It was actually the other way around... until now.

Please dont let me have any false hope they have made the XIP ROM update available for 5450... T_T Since my 5450 has serious bugs on Bluetooth which I am really expecting a ROM update...

Now only if HP would throw a little love toward the 2200 series

What types of problems with BT are you having??? I have been having problems syncing my 5450 with my computer via Bluetooth...not sure if problem is with activesync upgrade or Mobile 2003 upgrade??? :?:
