I am pretty sure there's a good tutorial to do this out there. However have not been able to find it.
Here's the scenarion.
Laptop connected to LAN
Wireless Card in Laptop
Ipaq H4150.

Would like to create and AdHoc Connection between the Laptop and Ipaq so I can have an Internet Connection on my PDA at work. This is helpful, so we can use MSN Messenger to discuss things while in a conference call or meeting.

Can Anyone walk me through the steps of sharing the internet connection on my laptop and getting this to work? any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks,

Hi!

I think, even if you area able to establish an adhoc connection with your
laptop and PDA, you won't be able to get the internet connection on your
PDA. For this to happen, you need to have a laptop with Windows 2000
server(Or similar) operating system which would enable the laptop to
act as a bridge transfering data from one network connection to another.
This is one way to get internet on your PDA. Other way, is of course,
connect to an access point. I know, this doesn't help much, but this is what
it is.

Not sure that is an accurate response.

I just got it to work. I just renewed the IP Address in my PDA when connection to my laptop, and it's working just fine.
thanks everyone.

Just as an FYI, that is exactly what Internet Connection Sharing does. It sets up what is typically a desktop PC as a router to allow other PCs networked to it to access it's internet connection. The capability has been around since Win98, though it has improved significantly. For you young folks, there was a time when you didn't get on the net anyway but via a dialup modem, and a router at home was out of the question.
