I am leaving on Friday for an 8-day trip to Colorado. Even though I will be there for work, I will have a lot of down time to use my PPC. As a result, I am looking for a new game to play. I am interested in trying out an RTS game and have been looking at several different ones--Warfare, Inc.; Age of Empires; and Argentum. My problem is, I can't decide which one to buy. I generally like games that are not too difficult to operate in terms of controls, etc. Any advice?

By the way, while I'm out there, I will be giving a demonstration on "How to Use a Pocket PC." I work for an association of long-term care providers. As a general rule, our members are woefully behind the times insofar as technology is concerned. If I can bring this technology to just one person, I feel that I will have accomplished something.

AOE for PPC is some nice. If you had played the desktop version and liked it you will love the PPC version. It has been ported perfectly.

Is it the type of game that you can play even though there are a lot of distractions, like in the airport?

Yeah you probably could. It has a save feature so if you need to board your plane or what ever you could. You can play without sound too.

I acually loved all of those games, the demos, that is. I have all of the age of empires, all of the expansions. I love them all, but I dont really want to play the same game on my PPC when I have have passed it like 20 times. I dont need to pay 50 bucks for a mobile version. But fun, none the less :D

Go for Warefare Inc., it is my first RTS game and found it to be excellent. Not to long and just the right amount of challenge. Save your game and pick up where you left off. Good options including landscape mode and easy to use and play.

Seeing as how the poll is tied at 38% each for Warfare Inc. and Age of
Empires, I have decided to play both; just not at the same time
I will play Warfare Inc. first during my Colorado trip later this week, and will save Age of Empires for the holidays or, if I can make it that long, for a trip to Las Vegas that I have planned for mid-January. Thanks to everyone who voted and/or posted. I really appreciate the input.

I'm going to vote warfare incorporated over age of empires for the following reasons:
1. AOE is memory hungry and really doesn't like my older e310. Warfare runs without a hitch.
2. I've played AOE countless times on PC and want something new
3. I've always preferred C&C type games (take my word for it, it's almost exactly like C&C but without naval/air units and video) over armies with the one exception of warcraft.

The other games are a little too repetitive and lacking in real strategy to really warrant comment or a vote... hehehe... :D Halfway through warfare now. Wish there will be a missions/campaign editor out because with only 12 storyline missions I'm already halfway through and it's an expensive game!

tanalasta, I agree with you. Btw Warfare has 14 story missions and 6 challenge missions, and the mission editor is going to be released soon so anyone can make missions.

Scrabble, hot death uno, odyssey, arkaball, euchre, spades, puzzle of pipes ...

But I find watching Divx to be the most fun way to kill time.
Brave heart, the last of the mohicans, matrix, terminator, alien, final fantasy, tomb raider, world is not enough, golden eye, independence day, men in black, swordfish, brotherhood of wolf, 13th warrior, minority report, the mummy, xmen, fast and furious, top gun, die another day, the mask, van wilder, old school ... they always go wherever I go :D

I took your advice and bought Warfare Inc., although I didn't have as much time to play as I had anticipated. For the time that I did have to play, I haven't done very well. I keep getting killed by the invading hordes and their war machines. I think I need to improve my skills directing my men and vehicles. Now that I'm back from the trip, I hope to find some time to play after work this week.

You could also look at Warlords II from PPC Studios. This is an excellent remake of the PC Turn Based strategy game. A more relaxed game but one with lots of replayability.

I will definitely give it a look. Is there a demo?
