Built-in WiFi, Bluetooth and GSM/GPRS are reported as connectivity features which would make it the first HP iPAQ with all three levels of wireless connectivity integrated (PAN, LAN and WAN). According to the site, it will be based on the 2210 form factor.

Not impossible: I've found that Texas Instruments is behind the wi-fi and Bluetooth combo on the new HP Pocket PCs (http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=1625) and I wondered how long before HP would incorporate the WANDA design into a new Pocket PC...

Aren't we talking about the 6000 series?

Hopefully they'll include Nevo and also support Consumer Infrared again - these are missing on the more recent iPAQs (e.g. h5550, h4130 etc.).

I spoke to a HP rep earlier this year who said they were looking to do a BT/WiFi/GPRS device in Q1 '04. This seems to confirm it.

I hope it has 128 Mb RAM too and proper support for BT headsets built in! Also a camera would be nice... :D

If it based on the 2210 form factor - I wonder if it will have the CF slot?

I hope so on all counts. I'll be looking to upgrade one of my Pocket PCs in early 2004 and an all-in-one tri-wireless solution will fit the bill just nicely (I sit on the fence with regard to one box/two box solutions - dual wireless and a BT phone for work, tri-wireless 'please' for leisure!).

My worry is that it won't have a CF slot (the WANDA reference design doesn't) or 128MB RAM - and I'm really not interested in specs lower than that any more. Even if it comes in a 2210 form factor the lack of a CF slot would push me straight to the O2 XDA II...

well if they make it down to the 19xx form factor i would love it big time, but also the 2210 form factor will do since i carry both my 2210 and my phone :)

Seems that way to me. Here's an earlier report on the h6000 series: http://www.brighthand.com/article/RumorMill_iPAQ_h6000_with_Multiple_Wireless

Wow. Personally I don't really care about the camera just hope they deliver it on time with a reasonable (let's say <$500 with contract) price.

The same article mentions a 1.3 MP camera due this october from HP for the IPAQ SD slot (they must have meant next year). But I don't know how many people would pay the 175 EURO or $200 for it. 8O

The rumours to date indicate that it won't have a CF slot.

Personally, I'm willing to give that up for the wireless triple-threat in such a small form factor.

If many of the rumours are true, this will be the killer device for me:
- 128MB
- triple wireless
- Bluetooth headset support

The HP SD camera will be out this month, and was announced at the same time as the H4350/H4150 and GPS units.

I'll also give up the CF slot for the GPRS built in. I've found with the 2210, I dont use the CF much. Only for WiFi - and even that not very often - its a pain to have to put the card in. If it was built in, I'd use it more....

Also, with 128 Mb RAM, you dont have to depend on the SD card as much which means it is not such a big deal to swap it for a peripheral if necessary (although with this device, so little extra is needed  )

Am I the only person who actually watches films on their PPC? That's the main reason I couldn't give up a CF slot (not until they do 1GB SD cards). But if you remove the two films and 10 MP3s I have on my CF, I still have over 400MB taken.

Do I really want built-in cellular functions on my PDA. Tough to say. Though it would be great if I can just use it for data and not voice.

The uber battery is what's really interesting. I thought I read 1850mA? 8O

I'm a few weeks away from buying an IPAQ 5555 due to the memory capacity and built-in WiFi/Bluetooth. I'll also be buying an SPV e200 and since it has Bluetooth, next years IPAQ seems less tempting. But the battery!!!

Decisions decisions...
