OK, I need an application to read bar codes with a PPC and match the codes with pre-existing information in a database.

Does such an application already exist?
Who makes the best CF Bar Code Scanner?

I notice they have an SDIO scanner as well now.

Not sure about the application software. You might want to contact them and ask. They might refer you to one of their resellers.

I did end up ordering Socket's class 2 laser CF barcode reader, along with another 2215 and a 512mb Lexar SD card for the project. I am looking at PocketASP to allow me to use PIE as a front end for the application.
