Generally, they rate the hardware highly, but not as high as they did <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=172005#172005">the H4350:</a><br /><br />"At first glance, the H4150 looks like an ideal Pocket PC, introducing built-in Wi-Fi to the thin and light H1940 form factor, as well as adding a faster CPU. ...but before bringing this $450 iPaq home, you should ask yourself what exactly you want to do with the onboard Wi-Fi. If you plan on sending lots of e-mail and instant messages in a work environment with good Wi-Fi coverage, you might be better off with a keyboard-equipped handheld such as <a href="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=172005#172005">HP's H4350</a>, which retails for $50 more."

Given the position of the IR port and the lack of NEVO in the software bundle, I suppose it's safe to say that neither of the 4000s will have a consumer-grade IR port.

I was thinking of getting the 4150 as a dress-up PDA since it's much more lighter and compact than the 5555. But with Smartphone coming soon, I don't know if it's REALLY worth it since I'm definitely getting a Smartphone.

Decisions decisions.

Does my aluminum proporta case for h1910 support the new h4150 as well, since they are almost in the same dimensions?

Is the serial port on the bottom the same as the 1900 series iPAQ's.

I like the form factor of the 1900 and 4100 series but I'd like to use my Targus keyboard and not have to go for an Infrared solution or wait for a bluetooth keyboard.

Anyone know what keyboard compatibility there is?

Unfortunately, according to the review, the 4150 shares its screen with the 1940... the yellow cast on that screen has turned many people (myself included) away from the 1940. I had a 1945 and exchanged it for a 2215.

Not everyone has a problem with the screen, so if you're interested, by all means check the 4150 out. But I'm no longer interested. :(

I'm looking to get the 6000 also. As long as it's not ugly beyond belief. Unfortunatly, my 3650 is nearing the end, and I don't think it will last. So I'm going to be picking one of these new models up, and then pass it along to my wife when the 6000 comes out. 8)

I would wait from some reviews on this. I'm sure we will be hearing soon. Just because it shares the same screen, doesn't mean they haven't fixed the problem.

This was a good review IMO, but I'll very interested to read PPCT review team take on that

I think that they missed something by not putting 128Mb Ram into this device.

All the other spec's are awesome. :D

The review didn't mention the USB client, which can connect USB mouse and keyboard directly.

The package include the USB 4 pin to type A converter too, so I guess this should be a sell point too-- the smallest ppc with USB client.

A review on MSNBC was very positive as well..... but with the 1940 screen........ I think waiting and checking it out yourself is the right move!

To attach a keyboard and/or mouse it would require a USB Host port, not client. All current PPCs have a client port. Where did you get the impression that the USB port on the device would support a USB mouse/keyboard, etc? (making it a host port)

Has anyone seen any news on which graphics chip the 4xxx series uses uses? - or even if the two use the same chips?

Info from infosync world on the YELLOW SCREEN ISSUE:
"A HP spokesman confirmed to infoSync World that neither of the displaus of the two models suffer from yellow tinting, a widely reported problem with the iPAQ h1940 series."

and I would like to know also why they are not utilizing the new Intel Xscale PXA263 processor instead? Which provides better support for wireless devices.

My mistake, sorry.

I was hoping you had seen something somewhere else :( The type A usb port though does seem to imply you can go get a USB cable almost anywhere to sync (and charge?) instead of having to get a proprietary cable.

Interesting, Palm releases a T3 with Bluetooth only for $400 and HP releases on with WiFi, Bluetooth AND 100ma bigger battery for $450?

Bought the T3, returned it after 1 week (Outlook conduits still need work).
Bought the 2215, returned it 1 day later...sorry guys, the screen was way too washed out. Perhaps I will consider the 4155. I just have to wait until my eyes 'forget' how much nicer the T3 screen was.

So is the sync port still backwards like the 19xx series? Can i use my folding keyboard with the screen facing me? Or the the port all together new?

Potentially good news, but given the severity of the problem with the 1940 (at least IMO), I think I'll wait until I can see it for myself.

And I guess the other thing that puzzles me is that if the yellow tinting isn't a design characteristic of the screen, why can't they fix it on the 1940? Especially given all of the incredibly lame excuses that HP support has given to 1940 owners who have complained? That's why I'll remain skeptical for now.

They could fix it but that wouldn't be cost effective for them.
So until people stop complaining about unacceptible flaws in PPCs and actually do something; we will continue to get lame excuses from manufactures. I return anything I can not live with due to a flaw plus the complaint to the store I bought it from. Maybe others should do the same. That is the ulimate message one can send. Never accept just anything these guys put out because its the latest and suppossedly greatest thing on the market.

What happened to the Consumer IrDA functionality and that really cool NEVO Remote Control application??? 8O :( HP made the same blunder again as they had done earlier (by excluding Consumer Infrared & NEVO on the HP iPAQ 5550 as well!) :!:

I bought the h1940 and was very pleased with it, but I could not live with the yellow screen. I had not gotten to sell my h1915 and will stick with it to I get confirmation on the h4150 screen.

I have a spare battery and a USB-cradle for my h1915. Are thiese compatible with h4150?
