View Full Version : Problem with Folding Keyboard & WM2003

During the upgrading of my Axim, I lost the foldable kb drivers. No problem since I had become totally frustrated with the Word round-tripping issue. Well, I have since purchased Textmaker and decided to reinstall the kb drivers. No problem again. Drivers installed and kb works fine.....except for one quirk. After using the kb, I am no longer able to power the Axim up unless I do a soft reset. Additionally, the Axim won't charge with my minisync cable (though it syncs just fine). I uninstalled the kb drivers, reset my Axim, and everything works fine. Reinstalled the kb drivers, and the same problem.

So now I've got what appears to be a great software package (Textmaker) but it is of no value to me because I can't get the keyboard to work.

Anyone ever heard of this? Are there updated drivers I need to install for WM2003?

Any help/advice is appreciated.

Just made a couple of changes to original message. Again, any advice is appreciated.

I dunno, I don't have the keyboard or 2003. Have you tried asking Dell? I know it's a long shot, but....

I figured I'd try here first. But Dell is next on my list.

Thanx

When you say upgrading your PPC, did you upgrade from 2002 to 20003? If so, did you download the drivers for WM2003 from Dell's site, or install the drivers that shipped with the keyboard?

I don't use Textmaker but I did the 2003 upgrade last Friday and have had no trouble with the keyboard drivers for 2003.

Now we're gettin somewhere :D . I installed the drivers that shipped with the keyboard. Based on your response, it sounds as though I need to install updated drivers that I assume are not on the WM2003 CD. I'll check Dell's website and see if I can find them.

Thanx doogald.

Although I purchased an Axim that already had WM2k3 on it, and the keyboard, which had its own CD and drivers, I did download the newer driver from the Dell site, and everything works famously.

Yes, they appear to have created drivers specifically for 2003. You can find them at support.dell.com if you enter the service tag for the Axim.

Of course I just checked there and it is not there...

Drats, I just checked and they still aren't there. Thanx for the tip anyway.

doogald,

You have gone above and beyond the call of duty. I hope I can return the favor someday. Thanx again for all your help.

Did you find the drivers?

I e-mailed him the 2003 drivers. FWIW, they are now working on Dell's site again.

You're welcome. I was glad to help.
