i wanted to do a soft-reset with my ipaq5450. howver, it got stuck at the HP-welcome-screen. Then I tried to do a hard reset, but it still doesn't shoe anything but the HP-screen after booting.
what can I do? throw it away and buy a new one??ß

8O that doesn't sound good.
Is it still under warranty?
I'd call up HP and see what they say...
Maybe try removing the battery and waiting for it to completely die off and try again?

Yah... you have to remember to remove the batteries for at least 5 to 10 minutes to allow the capacitors in the unit to die off, before attempting to restart it.
Does the 5455 have a backup battery? (I think so..) If you haven't replaced that lately, you might want to try getting a new one of those as well. In my older HP units, the backup battery would get drained as well if the main battery was not able to supply any juice. And if the backup battery got hosed, it didn't matter how much juice the main battery had, the unit would not fire up at all!
