I just noticed that the price of the Toshiba e755 is now $399 at CompUSA and Best Buy (and Fry's Electronics in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, CA). It's now the same price as an HP 2215.

I know there are Toshiba users that have ill feelings toward Toshiba for not providing Windows Mobile upgrades to older models, but I'd like to try skirt that issue in this thread.

Since the Toshiba e755 was initially offered at $499, I'm wondering if Toshiba dropped the price to compete directly with HP's 2215, or if they dropped the price to prepare for the anticipated release (and competition from) HP's 4155. The drop may also be in preparation for Toshiba's own anticipated e805. I'm wondering it the price of an e755 might drop even further...maybe with a rebate from Toshiba or something similar.

Any thoughts from anyone???

I would purchase my e755 today at $499 all over again. It's that good a device.

i am still very very happy with my e755. i actually got mine on amazon.com with a $50 rebate. it came out to somewhere around $330 for the unit. amazon had the e755 at some really low cost (lowest price of the season) let me see. they originally had it for $429. then dropped it $60, and on top of that, there was a $50 rebate.

it has been a great purchase and i still use it every single day. =]
i have not had to deal with toshiba at all, so i cannot comment on the customer service nightmares everyone has.

I would probably consider a Toshiba except that game emulation is a priority of mine, making its button-delay thing very problematic. Hey, that makes me think of something: has anyone ever used a USB GamePad with the Toshiba e755's USB host? That possibility might make me change my mind in a heartbeat.

But besides the button thing, the e755 is almost perfect. For the same price as the h2210, I'd say it's a far better deal overall.
