That's higher resolution than the 1,280-pixel by 960-pixel (SVGA) managed by most of the latest models from competitors such as Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Electric, and Sony.<br /><br />Other camera-like functions include auto focus, a digital 10 X zoom, digital movie function, and a number of picture taking modes, such as "close-up," "evening," or "portrait." Images can be stored in the telephone, which has a 12.8MB memory area for users, or on a Secure Digital memory card. The built-in storage is enough space for 32 images taken at the highest resolution, said Casio. Images can be moved to PCs or other devices via a USB connection or the SD card."<br /><br /><img src="http://www.smartphonethoughts.com/images/112797-n_100703_camphone.jpg" /> <br /><br />It's not in a Windows Mobile Pocket PC, but it's nice to see the continued evolution of integrated cameras. I'll be interested to see what sort of image quality this image sensor from Canon will produce - thus far every image I've seen from the cheesy CMOS sensors used today has been quite bad. I'd be thrilled with a crisp 640 x 480 resolution free of excessive digital noise instead of the messy images we normally get. Higher-quality CMOS sensors are certainly available, but it's a matter of cost and power consumption. This Casio phone looks like a step in the right direction. And considering the high quality of their E-125 and EM-500 Pocket PCs, I think their phones would be highly reliable. Go Casio!

I'm with you. My next phone will have built in BT, as will my next PPC. The PPC might also have Wi Fi built in. But I am tired of the phone-cable-PDA setup. I've even stopped using it, it's so annoying and bulky.

I want to set up my PDA on it's fold out keyboard, put the phone next to it, and log on and check my mail and surf the web... or send whatever thing I'm working on to someone.

A nice cup of coffe, or a tall glass of beer... but NO cable.

The SD slot will be needed to storage the big pics. These phone also needs BT to transfer those pics to the PDA...

...and then there was the featured packed piece of cheap plastic that was the E-200, with the interface plug from hell!

Here's a pic from my Nokia 3650 taken at night at Pat O' Brien's in New Orleans last weekend. I actually have much better photos, but would get in mucho trouble if I posted those.

I think one can take good looking pictures with a little CMOS camera. Everything doesn't need to be millions of megapixels and the latest and greatest. You don't even need a flash. It's fun manipulating a simple device to take cool pics that records a memory. That's what these little cameras are for, shot in a million pics. Even if the picture is little more than a smudge, the owner says, you know that was my smudge from my last holiday and it helps me remeber the really great time I had.

What more do you need? I think manufacturers see the camera devices for that market.
