From what I've read, this combo will allow you to do everything that the Microsoft Bluetooth kit will not. If you want to ensure that you get one as soon as they are released, you can <a href="http://estore.shopplex.com/app/storefront.aspx?cat_id=162&inv_id=30929140655548&modid=30214092059015&aid=5">pre-order one today.</a> [Affiliate]<br /><br /><img src="http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/images/web/2003/img430929144742533.jpg" />

Personally, I found the delay in responsiveness for the mouse intolerable. When you move the mouse, there is a noticeable delay in the movement of the cursor. Additionally, when you move the mouse quickly the cursor just doesn't respond well. It's erratic.

Maybe logitech won't have this problem.

aside from the fact this one has a rechargable mouse, I've heard the accompanying bluetooth hub is far more useful(with other products). it's going to run at either $135or $175, can't remember. brain not working.

For starters, you can't use it to ActiveSync your PPC to the Desktop b/c there is no serial profile.

Someone has to explain to me why a keyboard that isnt usable until the operating system is fully booted is so desirable. If you want to change something in the bios or if you boot to multiple operating systems you have to use a regular wired keyboard. Even the regular wireless keyboards work at POST.

Please explain to me what a regular RF wireless keyboard mouse combo can't do while this new bluetooth combo can do. For $170+, sorry, not for me. I can get a decent RF wireless combo witha a third of this price.

Mmmm, not sure how many of these they plan on selling, since on Logitech's site the MSPR is $179.95. Compaines want BT succeed, but screw it up by pricing it too high or by not including it all, as in the case of a lot of cell phones. It seems like by the time BT gets its act together, something better will come along.

I have used a MS BT keyboard and mouse since I got a demo unit and never gave it back. I was amazed at the lack of activesync and headset profiles, but here is Logitech with everything MS missed. I love the ability to control my media server while I sit on the couch 18+ feet away. Do that with a RF keyboard! They are now coming into stock and the price has been lowered to approx. $165.00 USD. can you use the these devices with existing bluetooth built into the laptop/tablet - specifically, anything other than the usb->bluetooth adapter? It'd be nice to use a mouse/keyboard with my tablet pc without having to plug in usb cables.

Also note that Logitech is bringing out a BT headset. Presumably it will work with the BT hub (which is the mouse recharging dock). I think it is just monaural, but with a mic. So those that like VoIP, like Messenger or Portrait, may benefit from this.

Maybe you should read the specs of the Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard a bit more carefully. According to Logitech, the keyboard WILL work with BIOS. However, for the keyboard to work with BIOS you have to plug the Bluetooth dongle/hub into both the USB port as well as into the keyboard port.

And I am typing this on a MS BT keyboard, but that's not what we are talking about here. I am bring in the Logitechs for all my staff so if you watch the used equipment page of our site you could buy some even cheaper  . Personally, using the activesync and headset profile is worth it to me to make the investment. We use telesym for our phone system here and the ability to use our Bluespoons with our tablets and desktops has always been a goal. Now if only the XDA 2 would show up so I could get rid of those darn 5550s and use our BT headsets ...............

Doesn't the BT Headset Profile registry hack work on the 5550?

Well it does, but the sound reminds me of the old days when we use to tie string between two cans, but much worse! Compaq/hp told me "it's not a concern right now" along time ago when we could have sold a ton to our Telesym clients.

I should have clarified, I was speaking of the MS KB/Mouse which is the only one I have used. However even if this new one does work with the bios etc. It isnt worth $$$$ thay they want for it. Nor was the MS KB/Mouse which i returned the day after I got it.

Well I for one am happy about this, looks like Logitech has done it right. Seems to be everything I wanted from the MS keyboard when it came out.
Ok so Bill might be the only one wo can afford it, but prices will drop, or I will get cought shoplifting. Might wait for the price drop now I think about it.
