I am about to purchase my first Pocket PC... Which one should I get?
Toshiba E755, HP IPAQ 5555, HP IPAQ 2215, Dell AXIM X5
anybody with any good or bad experince with any of these products?

by far the 2215, in my opinion, because I have one. The toshibas are buggy and dont run very well, especially the E755. Also, you can read reviews on brighthand or on PPCT.

What features are most important to you?

portability, speed, voice recording (Question about 2215 can you program a button for voice record?) I like how the 2215 has a CF slot for external devices

If you want speed and excellent battery life, go with the ASUS A620. It is currently the fastest PocketPC on the market. It doesn't have an SD slot, however. A BT model just came out.

How important is price to you?
All of the devices you mentioned have CF slots except the 5555, which is also the most expensive and the heaviest, and probably has a lot of features you won't use, so probably scratch that one.
If you want built in Wi-Fi AND dual expansion, your only choice is the toshiba. A friend of mine has one of those and he likes it very much, it's a much better machine then the 740.
If that's not what you need, then it's the 2215 vs the X5, and that's a matter of which is more important to you, price, or size. Though, the 2215 does have the edge on speed right now as well. But it's also $100 more, so if money is a big issue, then that's something to consider.

I have all those devices except the Toshiba, and the 2215 replaced the X5 as my day to day device if that helps you at all. ;-)

It's the E740 that is buggy, haven't read about or had problems with the E755.

He is right. I had an e740 and the battery % problems alone are enough to drive someone insane. Like I said, you need to investigate the A620 a bit.

Now come on Young Honda, the e755 is much better than the 740 and is certainly not buggy.
Of the devices listed, that is the one I would most likely buy. It has embedded WiFi and more memory than the 2215 and Axim.
If Blue Tooth is important, the 2215 makes sense.
I would not buy a 5550 because I use a CF card for my books and music.
At the moment I still use my trusty 400MHz Axim. None of the new products excite me enough to want to change.
I would say just compare the features and buy the PPC that is closest to matching your needs.

I am so dreadfully sorry to misinform you; however, I would like to point out to you fellow Pocket PC enthusiasts that once in a while a human being makes mistakes, which was quite obvious in this example. And, regarding my name, I have said numerously before, enough with the degrading term of "Young Honda", I have simply pointed this out and I would like it of you to obey my wish. You all seem to know my name, and I have been asked before why my screen name was named after an automobile. This is quite the irritation and is also beyond me why many of you seem to use it! Now, shall we proceed to the lighter side of the conversational spectrum?
Thank-you,
Justin.

Concerning your voice recording....I dont know if anyone on here remembers, but in the last couple of months there was either posted on the front page, and I also think I received an email from pocketpcmag, about a software that really just puts you in total control of all your voice recordings. and i think it was free but not certain on that. To the least I would recommend you checking it out if you are interested in doing some serious voice recordings. When I saw it I thought it was totally cool:)
The 2215 in my opinion is a good choice, both slots and the size are good. I do wish it was cheaper, which goes to tell my budget I suppose.
I personally dont need the fastest pda on the market. I do believe that pda's for the most part are over priced.

If you look on today front page, you will see voive recording available as mp3. It seems to me as for the issue of voice recording, you dont have any excuses of it not working out well for ya;) It is either the 2215 or if just for simplicity, the 1945 0r1935.

Hey Mr. Honda, I'm thinking of changing my name to Dodge Neon and I would really appreciate it if you would refrain from calling me Dodge.
Now, if you wanted to call me young, that would be fine. :D

I don't really care about what care you drive or what screen name that you possess, but since you know my name is Justin, why not use it ?

Please, stay on topic. Let this person decide on what to buy, as they cannot decide with us bickering. If you don't understand what my name is, tell me in a PM.

And yes, I would think that the 2215 is a good contender, considering it has dual expansion. Very handy

Using acronyms for 2-day-old users that have posted 2 times is not the most helpful thing. No offense, luapk, but I think we should tell you that "BT" means Bluetooth (it's used for wireless connectivity).

All PDAs are very portable, but there are some that are smaller than the ones you mentioned that might suit your needs (1900 series). Needed speed is relative. A fast PDA isn't always as necessary as you might think: a 200mhz processor is fine for everything except maybe really fast games, and a bigger processor causes shorter battery life. All iPAQs' (5) buttons can be set to run any application you have on your PDA. I like to have it run my Sex Positions freeware for those situations where a new position must be found RIGHT NOW! The only real problem I see between you and an iPAQ 1900 series is that they don't have a CF card slot.

I have to agree with you on that one JH, the 2215 is a nice device. If I didn't already have my Axim that's what I'd buy.
Actually, I'm really glad that the Treo 600 has a poor quality screen because otherwise it's looking rather attractive. Sprint have some nice plans with unlimited data as well.

Yuck on sprint!
I think the 2215 is wonderful choice, it seems to me to be the best for the money for both slots. Concerning speed, I am wondering if it would make a difference to you the 2215 , or the 1945-35? Have you tried out both and seen which one will work best for you? More than likely the speed issue is mental and it may not make one bit of difference toyou when you actually try out the units. Take the two units side by side and then judge for yourself. If to you there isnt any big difference then that is one thing less you have to think about:)

Dell Axim X5 Advanced. The cheapest to date, yet it just rocks.
