After a couple of years of very light use, the battery in my Toshiba e310 is pretty much shot. It won't charge past 65%, and the battery runs down very quickly. I really like the unit, and really don't need to buy anything new...just need a new battery.

I know Toshiba won't send individuals an official battery, and instead will force you to send your unit to service, so I found this place on the net:

Anyone try this company, or try replacing the internal battery on an e310 (or e540 or whatever) with any success ?

Well a 1 year warranty is included on the product...so I guess if it doesnt work you can always bring it back right? (unless if it stuffs up your unit). I'd look for top-brand ones (Belkin maybe?), but I dont know, I don't have an e310 so...

This (http://www.gethightech.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=GHT&Category_Code=_E335_TAKE) might be helpful, if for nothing else just to see what's inside the bugger.

It looks great; the instructions seem simple enough. If you are worried about the warrant, the e310 new unit warrant is one year and the recon units are 90 days. This appears to be a Toshiba battery so who would be the wiser. My wifes unit last only 30 minutes or so and I think I will take a chance.
